MFIN Code of Conduct
Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN), a response from NBFC-MFIs across India to the concerns of over-borrowing by clients and unregulated credit practices in the microfinance sector, has adopted a code of conduct to keep the system clean and transparent. The code of conduct focuses on fair practices with borrowers, including promoting transparency, fixing overall lending limits at the client level, data sharing, recruitment practices, whistle blowing and enforcement mechanisms. This, in turn, is expected to help the microfinance sector achieve larger financial inclusion goals.
