K. Sarita
Buffalo-rearer

From one buffalo, to five buffaloes and two calves, Sarita has walked a long distance in just four years, beginning her journey with a loan of Rs. 8,000. For Sarita, her business saw a quick growth, with the demand for milk increasing in little time.

Now in her fourth loan cycle, Sarita has only got proactive and stronger, selling milk to the hotels in her village, and the ones nearby. A happy woman, she's glad that she's able to educate her only child, a daughter; now in Graduation and that she has more than just dreams for her daughter. She holds a bright future for her.


 

M. Vijaya
Tailor and Clothes-store Owner

Before SML happened, Vijaya did not have a regular source of income, and her family lived with whatever little her husband could bring home by selling plastic drums.

It all began with a small clothes-store with her first loan of Rs. 5000 and its expansion in the same year. Soon, she became a master tailor, and learnt some fashion designing skills. Business grew, so did the number of families she helped support through employment, which is about 15 today. Now Vijaya has women flocking to her store for clothes and fancy items.
